Following our recent article on recovering money through the Microsoft second hand licenses market: https://thesamclub.co.uk/saving-on-microsoft-license-costs/ , The SAM Club is pleased to announce two further successful cases:
• A Law firm having moved to Office 365/Microsoft 365 were no longer utilising their Office Professional Plus perpetual licenses. Having run checks to determine these were no longer installed and the firm confirming they no longer require the licenses, we were able to recover £18k for 340 x Office Pro Plus 2019 licenses.
• A Real Estate Investment Trust company where we identified a mixture of licenses from a small number of Office Pro Plus 2016, Windows Server Datacenter 2016 and Exchange Enterprise Servers 2016, we recovered £12k for these licenses which had been forgotten about and no longer required.
It is worth noting that the market for second hand licenses is generally the current edition minus one release. Therefore, if you have moved to subscription licenses or upgraded any licenses that previously didn’t have software assurance, you may be sitting on money that can be easily recovered. Note: The value of licenses, just like a used car diminishes over time.
Likewise, if you are considering upgrading your infrastructure but budget restrictions are in place, then why not consider the Microsoft second hand license market.
The SAM Club provides an independent software asset management service. We are not a software reseller. This service is available on a project basis for a nominal fixed fee. Any software identified for resale is then transacted between yourselves and a firm that specialises in the second hand license market.
Please contact The SAM Club if you would like to discuss this further and understand more about how we can be of assistance.
