Adobe has announced a huge price increase for its Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription with effect from 1st July 2023.
The new pricing applies to contract renewals and reorders of licenses you make on or after July 1, 2023. Existing 3-year-contract customers will continue to receive their existing pricing through to the completion of their 3-year term.
What can you do to potentially mitigate this increase?
Before diving into any negotiation, it is crucial to evaluate your current Adobe usage. Do the users that have been assigned an Adobe license still require it? Are they still employed (joiner/leaver process)? Do any users have multiple subscriptions that could be amalgamated into an All Apps subscription for better pricing? You can cancel your subscriptions on any licenses that are no longer in use at renewal.
This assessment will give you a clear understanding of your needs, allowing you to make informed decisions when exploring the options for reducing costs.
There most probably isn’t enough time before the price increase, but something to consider is exploring alternative solutions. There are several competitors that offer comparable features and functionality that may be at more affordable prices. E.g. Kofax Power PDF, Nitro PDF. Consider trial versions for key members of alternative software to asses if they can meet your specific needs.
Lastly consider moving to a 3 year Adobe subscription agreement, ideally before the 1st July price increase. This will provide a price fix for the term but note once locked in, the number of licenses in the agreement can’t be reduced.
At The SAM Club we proactively review price increases that are coming to ensure our clients are informed and take action where possible to mitigate these additional unbudgeted costs.
