Having recently seen how one Snow reseller has been (or not) looking after their client, we were wondering who else is using Snow Software but is not receiving the service and support they are paying for?
With any software, it is important to keep up to date to ensure the application is supported. This is important with security risks associated with older/unpatched versions. Added to this we can include:
- Fixed bugs and faults
- New features and functions
- Compatibility with new hardware and technology
- Support ending for older software / End of Life
With Snow Software, whereas the above are all true, there are further reasons to upgrade on a regular basis such as:
- Ensuring the licensing rules are updated and applied to various versions and editions of software
- New software available, we have seen Microsoft for example release a number of new products during 2023 alone (Intune Suite, Entra ID family of products, CoPilot….)
How to check what version of Snow you are running? Login to the Snow and go to the applications drop down and click on search for applications. In the screen that pops up under manufacturer type in Snow. This will list all the components of Snow that are running in your environment. What is the highest version of Snow Integration Manager and Snow Inventory Agent installed? Please add to the comments below with your Snow Software version which we will respond too or contact us at [email protected] if you would like to remain anonymous.
At The SAM Club, we provide an independent software asset management service, we are not software resellers. With Snow we cover all software which some resellers limit to a couple of key vendors. Contact us to find out more about our service. With software costs continuing to increase, The SAM Club aims to save you money not only on your SAM managed service costs but also with your software renewals.
