Microsoft have announced the Intune Product Family, with Intune being the name for all endpoint management. The name Microsoft Endpoint Manager will no longer be used. Microsoft will refer to cloud management as Microsoft Intune and on-premises management as Microsoft Configuration Manager. There are new features coming in March 2023 which will include:
- Remote Help: adding enhancements onto the initial version released in April 2022 with a ServiceNow integration for example bringing in service management incident information into Intune for faster resolution to user technology issues
- Tunnel for Mobile App Management: providing convenience for end users, who can use one device for work and personal use (rather than carrying two devices). It does not require device enrollment, meaning corporate data can still be protected without the need for end-users to give IT control over their personal device should they not want to. From a company perspective, this allows companies to adopt a BYOD program
- Endpoint Privilege Management: helping automate and manage when workers have permission to use admin privilege for specific tasks on both Windows cloud connected and co-managed endpoints
- Advanced Endpoint Analytics: includes several advanced endpoint analytics features to help IT admins further understand, anticipate, and improve the technology experiences of their workers no matter where they work
- Further value and looking forward: more to come, see the section in the link
The article states ‘We will offer this new cost-effective, premium plan to subscribers of Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 or any plan which today includes licenses for Microsoft Intune’. It sounds like there will be an additional cost for these features, but no pricing has been mentioned in the article.
