Microsoft has now announced its price increase to align the pricing of it’s Cloud products globally to reflect the exchange rate of local currencies to the US dollar. From 1st April the UK will see a 9% increase for Microsoft Cloud products.
Other currencies that will be effected are the Danish Krone, Norwegian Krone & Euro with an 11% increase and Swedish Krona with a 15% increase.
Microsoft will be reviewing its pricing twice a year to take into account currency fluctuations. The big question will be if the GB Pound recovers against the US Dollar, will we see the pricing reduced? At The SAM Club we take a proactive approach with our clients when it comes to price increase announcements:
- Microsoft Price increase March 2022. The majority of The SAM Club clients that were on a CSP, had their agreement renewed in February 2022 at the current pricing with a 12 month price fix (max. allowable term)
- When the announcement was made in 2022 regarding Microsoft’s plans to realign prices based on the local exchange rates (Is a Microsoft Price Increase coming in 2023? (thesamclub.co.uk), The SAM Club took a proactive approach to add a new SKU line where possible to our customers NCE(CSP) agreements to price fix for a further 12 months from December 2022. This was for 1 license (license quantity can be increased at fixed price) only as a precaution. With the 1st April date now being advised, The SAM Club clients are still is a great position to maximise the term at the current pricing before the 9% increase as the majority of their NCE(CSP) agreements expire in February 2023.
