If you have current Software Assurance on any of your SQL licenses or if your SQL licenses are on a current subscription basis then you are entitled to upgrade these licenses to the 2022 release.
With this announcement came the news that Microsoft is increasing its SQL Server Licensing by 10% from 1st January 2023. This is in addition to the recent announcement on realigning prices based on the local exchange rates: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6996485675881504768
